One year ago today an awesome group of community supporters gathered to spend “one night in a car” to raise awareness of families with children who have no other option for a place to sleep. It was a wonderful and eye opening experience for all involved. The morning after we gathered around pancakes together and shared our experiences and thoughts. It was amazing how impactful it was on everyone – no eyes were dry. Teachers shared about having more empathy for their homeless students. Moms reflected on how simple things like brushing teeth are difficult and the perceived stigma they felt when non-participants saw them. Stay tuned, we will be doing it again this spring!
