Like all non-profit organizations, the agency is required by law to inform clients of policies regarding privacy or client information prior to provision of service. This document outlines the types of personal information we receive and collect when a client uses Helping Hand House services, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard information. TYPES OF NONPUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Helping Hand House collects nonpublic personal information about you when you apply for Helping Hand House services. This information is either provided to us by you or obtained by us from a third party with your authorization.

•    We use select personal information for auditing, research, and analysis to operate and improve Helping Hand House services

Helping Hand House does not disclose nonpublic personal information about current or former clients obtained in the course of our practice except as required or permitted by law.

•    Provision of information to agency employees when that information is required for service provision

•    Provision of information to third parties when they assist us in providing services to you; all third parties are required to comply with Helping Hand House privacy policies and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

RECORD RETENTION
Helping Hand House retains records relating to professional services for up to seven (7) years. These records are retained for required reporting purposes only. To protect nonpublic client information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, Helping Hand House maintains physical and procedural safeguards in compliance with these privacy policies.

Helping Hand House welcomes and encourages followers in the social media space maintained by the organization (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)  to comment and engage in respectful conversation about the content posted on the pages. We value thoughtful, polite and concise comments that reflect our mission, vision and values. We simply ask that you be respectful of our organization, our clients and their families. Because of this, we reserve the right to delete comments that contain spam, profanity, offensive, inappropriate or libelous messages.

EMAIL UPDATES

We use a third-party email marketing party to deliver emails. This company employs techniques for tracking open rates and click-thrus that use email address as an identifier. You will be given the option to remove your name from our email list at the bottom of each email update. And, again, we will not sell, rent or trade your email address to a third party.

ONLINE DONATIONS

Helping Hand House’s online and offline donation processing systems comply with commonly accepted standards and comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment account data security.

Our online donation processor, PayPal, partners with Wufoo to host our secure giving pages on their PCI Compliant servers and uses high-grade encryption and the industry-standard https security protocol to ensure secure transactions. All Wufoo forms on Helping Hand House pages are https embeds, hosted off-site on Wufoo servers.
