Helping Hand House values our volunteers as partners and offers ongoing opportunities for individuals and groups.
Our work helping vulnerable families with children to recover their lives cannot succeed without the support of our community. Every year hundreds of people volunteer their time and goods to Helping Hand House, assisting families on their way to improving their quality of life and becoming stable enough to live independently.
Our intent is to maximize volunteer opportunities to the best of our ability. We are dedicated to making sure that we provide safe, organized, and meaningful experiences for each and every volunteer. Our hope is that, in the spirit of partnership, volunteers will take their learning’s about Helping Hand House and homelessness back to their friends and family to infuse the community with the power of lending a hand.
Volunteer and donation opportunities vary during the year, depending on administrative, development, and program needs. Examples of some opportunities are listed below.
Bake or purchase a birthday cake and provide at least one gift for a child in one of our programs.
Provide a holiday meal and/or gifts for a family in one of our programs..

Make a Home Program – Great for Groups or Individuals
Clean and prep a house. Families often leave a house in good condition, so it usually only requires a light cleaning. We want it to look great, so we’ll focus on the details. Once it is clean, we’ll prepare the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen for the family with sheets, towels, food, and similar items. The idea is to make a home – to create an environment that is welcoming for the new family entering our program.
Periodically throughout the year, Helping Hand House holds special and fundraising events. Each of these provide unique volunteer opportunities. As events arise, they will be listed on our website.
Our most consistent need is for items used in our homes and by our families. Donations are welcome from individuals, or from groups wanting to conduct a supply drive. To see a list of items we accept, click below:
