At Helping Hand House one of our top priorities is that families needing emergency housing enter a fully equipped home with all necessary food, supplies, and furniture/appliances in place. We call it providing the “teaspoons to toilet paper” – and it is a vital part of making a house a home for these families escaping the crisis of homelessness. Groups and individuals organize supplies drives throughout the year. We encourage you to consider helping supply basic needs for Helping Hand House families.

At other times of the year such as Easter, Back to School, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, we like to provide families in all our programs a way to enjoy the holiday without the stress of wondering how they can afford a holiday meal and/or gifts for their children. Therefore, during holiday seasons, our needs are different and our list of Most Needed Items changes.

Please direct any food donations to a food bank in your area. and remember that expired food can not be accepted.

We also partner with the Northwest Furniture Bank for our client’s furniture needs. Please direct questions about donating used furniture to 253-302-3868 or viewing their website at nwfurnturebank.org.

If you have new furniture to donate, we are able to occasionally accept it as space allows. Please contact us for more information.
